Taylor Lautner does not hunt alone. The wolfpack has been announced!
One of the major casting decisions of the New Moon movie has made official, the movie's pr people confirm to Celebuzz.
The Native American/First Nation actors playing the pivotal wolf scenes include Chaske Spencer, Alex Meraz, Bronson Pelletier, Kiowa Gordon and Tyson Houseman.
For the most part this was a closely guarded secret by the movie producers, with the exception of Pelletier, which leaked out earlier this year.
Each member is of Native American descent. Spencer is Lakota (Sioux), Pelletier is Cree-Metis, Meraz is Purepecha (Tarasco), Gordon is Hualapai and Houseman is Cree. Houseman was one member of the pack discovered in an open casting call in Vancouver where thousands descended for a chance to make it in the movie. Many were disappointed, but Houseman clearly prevailed.
This is bad news for Robert Pattinson and his vampire pals. New Moon will focus on the werewolves after the Twilight vampire-love. And werewolves are ancestral enemies of the vampires. From the looks of the very large Meraz − who has been spotted around Vancouver wearing a black leather jacket and filling door-frames with his shoulders − it's going to be trouble. Houseman is not nearly the baddie, but from his talent-agency website he's up for "stage fighting and fencing." He might be the guy who just stays out of the way.
Bring it, vampires!
