Robert Pattinson: Fans Are Disappointed When They Meet Me

Twilight sensation Robert Pattinson says fans are sometimes disappointed when they see him up-close. Rob, who is the anti-metrosexual, has often been spotted by paparazzi and fans alike looking quite disheveled.

"I find that people are always really disappointed when they actually recognize me," says Pattinson. "They're like ‘Oh! At first I thought you were a bum, but then I realized who you were.' "

Adds the self-deprecating Rob: "I don’t even get into those places [clubs] because I look like a bum when I go out. The paparazzi will all stand there and film me stuck outside the clubs. I tell the bouncer, ‘Listen, these guys are taking photos of me, let me in!’"

Still, Pattinson's casual "homeless chic" style has done little to diminish the enthusiasm of his legions of female fans. Rob, who shot to overnight A-list status following his star-making turn as vampire Edward Cullen, is now one of the popular actors on the planet. Indeed, he was recently named one of People magazine's 100 Most Beautiful People in the World, alongside superstars such as Angelina Jolie.

Rob is currently in Vancouver shooting New Moon, the sequel to Twilight. The British hunk, who was previously a struggling unknown, says attending the 2009 Academy Awards in February was surreal.

"I got there and then I’m sitting in the second row," Pattinson recounts. "It was unbelievable. I keep thinking that something terrible is going to happen. I just used up all my luck so I’m probably going to die at 23 or something."

Rob was doubly shocked when he discovered that some famous stars were Twilight fans. "Robin Wright Penn came up to me. I thought that was kind of amazing, considering her husband [Sean Penn] had just won Best Actor," Pattinson recalls. "That was very, very surreal."

For now, the modest Brit is taking his tremendous success in stride. Rob, who has often spoken of his passion for music, is working on some super-secret music projects. "I’m in talks to do a soundtrack for another movie, composing," he says. "I can't say what it is yet, but I really, really, really want to do it. I don’t think I’m going to have anything on New Moon, but never say never."

New Moon opens in November.

'Twilight,' 'Slumdog' lead the MTV Movie Awards nominations

Blockbusters Twilight and Slumdog Millionaire both garnered nominations in six MTV Movie Award categories, announced today by MTV. The two films are both up for Best Movie, along with The Dark Knight, High School Musical 3: Senior Year, and Iron Man. MTV has also added two new categories to the mix: Best Song from a Movie and Best WTF Moment. The show airs live on May 31st at 9pm with host Andy Samberg.

It has happened guys, and I am not sure how you will take the news; some might like it while others will cringe with despair. Meet Robsten, the newest name for Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart out of Hollywood. Don't fret too much though, we are dissecting the name and the rumors behind the alleged affair in today's The Twilight Saga Daily Dosage.

So I am sure you heard last night that they have hired a director for Eclipse and the movie has a June, 2010 release date set. The new director, David Slade, has one vampire movie under his belt already and many Twilighters are happy with this darker, more edgy pick.

Gasp! I did not think it would happen, but it has. Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have gotten a shipper name. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have one, and so do Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, plus do you remember when Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck had one? You would think the media would have gotten bored with this story, but the rumors are ramping up again that the costars are having an affair, again! EOnline is reporting that "Robsten" were spotted holding hands in the grocery store this past weekend in Vancouver. Let the rumors begin!

It's Official: David Slade

Last night around 9pm, Summit Entertainment released a press statement that confirmed the rumors that 30 Days of Night director David Slade will direct Eclipse, the third installment in The Twilight Saga. Stephenie Meyer said, “I am thrilled that David Slade will be directing ECLIPSE. He's a visionary filmmaker who has so much to offer this franchise. From the beginning, we've been blessed with wonderful directorial talent for the Twilight Saga, and I'm so happy that ECLIPSE will be carrying on with that tradition.” Still want to find out more about David Slade? New Moon Footage

Some may not want to spoil New Moon by watching the daily footage ET is bringing the fans, but this clip was so great we had to share. The spotlight features the love triangle that Edward, Bella, and Jacob find themselves in when Edward leaves Bella for her own protection.

We think we spotted a morphing in the video as Jacob runs and jumps off the porch balcony and sprints into the woods. With the tag line: "What happened after the prom" has us all drooling over the new footage and if you come back to PopStar tomorrow, you will see some juicy interviews with the cast of New Moon.

Peter in Trouble!

Oops! It was leaked to Peter Facinelli's wife that the New Moon star has been cooking for fellow cast mates. According to E!, the 90210: The Next Generation actress wants answers from her loyal hubby who never cooks at home. Joking around, Jennie said, “I am pissed off, because he doesn’t make me pasta dinners. I don’t know when was the last time the man cooked for me!”

Shirtless Wonders

Yeah, yeah, yeah - we know we posted this picture yesterday but we are posting it again because we can! And because we made it bigger! Yesterday, we were introduced to the shirtless wonders but there was one wolf we were missing.

Hey Jacob, stop tooling around with Bella and get in that picture with your boyz, please!

The Wolf Pack are the hottest sensation on the Internet today and we are definitely feeling some Vampire vs. Werewolf competition. Have you thought about switching side after seeing the shirtless wonders? To make it fair, we request that the Cullens pose for a shirtless picture also. :-)

Filming in Italy

Pack your bags and gets to go to Italy! HisGoldenEyes.com is reporting that filming will begin May 25 to May 29 in the Montepulciano. They will be casting women, children, and men for extras in New Moon, so check back tomorrow for more details.

Summit launches four at Cannes including new Pattinson romance Mike Goodridge in Los Angeles 24 Apr 2009 06:30 Summit Entertainment is presenting four new titles to buyers at Cannes this year including two new Summit productions - a romantic drama starring Twilight sensation Robert Pattinson and a generational love story set in Italy starring Amanda Seyfried. Pattinson is starring in Remember Me which is shooting this summer in New York while the actor is between Twilight sequels New Moon, which wraps at the end of May, and Eclipse, which starts in August. Allen Coulter, the award-winning TV director (The Sopranos, Damages) who made his feature debut with Hollywoodland in 2006, is directing the film and Nick Osborne and Trevor Engelson of Underground Films (License To Wed) are producing. Summit co-chairman and CEO Patrick Wachsberger wouldn’t go into too much detail on the plot but described the film as this generation’s Love Story. A female lead is in the process of being cast, while Rachel Getting Married writer Jenny Lumet has finished the latest draft of the screenplay. Meanwhile Gary Winick (Bride Wars, 13 Going On 30) is directing Letters To Juliet which stars Seyfried as an American girl in Italy who discovers the legend of the “letters to Juliet” – love letters which visitors leave in the wall of Juliet’s courtyard in Verona which are individually answered by a group of women called the secretaries of Juliet. While at the wall, the girl discovers a letter written in 1958 which has never been picked up and she decides to go on a quest to find the lovers in question. UK writer Tim Sullivan wrote the screenplay from an original draft by Jose Rivera (The Motorcycle Diaries). Ellen Barkin whose Applehead Productions originally brought the concept to Summit’s attention is producing alongside Mark Canton. An English romantic lead for Seyfried is currently being cast while two distinguished actors are being finalized to play the older couple. Wachsberger said the tone was in the vein of Four Weddings And A Funeral but with “a lot of emotion.” Summit will handle domestic distribution on both these films and they will go through its international output partners including E1 in the UK, SND in France and Concorde/TMG in Germany. Summit is also representing sales on two productions from Bill Pohlad’s River Road Entertainment – Doug Liman’s Fair Game featuring Sean Penn and Naomi Watts and The Runaways, a biopic of the 70s girl band starring Twilight’s Kristen Stewart as Joan Jett. Fair Game, which reunites Summit with Mr & Mrs Smith director Liman, is a true life drama about the outing of CIA agent Valerie Plame Wilson after her husband Ambassador Joseph Wilson accused the US government of manipulating evidence to justify the invasion of Iraq. It starts shooting next week. The Runaways is being directed by first timer Floria Sigismondi and produced by Art Linson. Dakota Fanning (who also has a role in New Moon) is scheduled to co-star alongside Stewart playing Runaways lead singer Cheri Currie. Summit previously handled sales on River Road’s Tree Of Life directed by Terrence Malick and starring Brad Pitt and Penn which opens at the end of this year. Also on Summit’s sales lineup is Furry Vengeance, a live action family comedy starring Brendan Fraser and directed by Roger Kumble which Summit is co-financing with Participant Media. Going into production this summer is Summit’s Step Up 3 which Disney will open domestically in Aug 2010. New Moon directed by Chris Weitz is set to open in North America on Nov 20, while the third film, Eclipse, to be directed by David Slade, will open on June 30, 2010. Jessica Simpson's friend Lane Garrison will soon be released form jail, In Touch is reporting on Thursday. The tabloid edition for the day also checks in with the sultry Robert Pattinson and the New Moon triangle. There are break up scenes being filmed this week in Vancouver and there is still a bit of a buzz with the movie triangle of Robert along with Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.

The off screen buzz is still rattling around the tabs as well. The questions unfold somewhat this way - Is Rob using Nikki Reed to try to gain attention for his 'real' love Kristen. On a side note one report claims that Stewart's boyfriend is tiring of the mess.

Back to Lane. ITW reports, "Garrison isn't making a break for it — he's being released! The former actor from the Fox hit drama Prison Break just got his walking papers and will become a free man on April 29. In a high-class homecoming, Lane's childhood friend Jessica Simpson has arranged for his ride.

"Jessica wanted to pick Lane up herself, but she can't," her pal explains. "So she hired a limo for a few friends to be there once Lane walks out." The singer hasn't visited her pal at the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego due to security risks, but Jessica and Lane have been in contact since he began his sentence in October 2007. The actor was locked up for a December 2006 DUI that resulted in the death of a 17-year-old passenger.

Selena Gomez and Taylor Lautner: Canadian Lovebirds?

Lainey Gossip is reporting that New Moon hottie Taylor Lautner is secretly romancing Disney starlet Selena Gomez, who is also in Canada filming her new movie called Ramona and Beezus.

Sources reveal that the 16-year-olds have been on three dinner dates (including a trip to The Spaghetti Factory, aww!) and he's visited her for lunch at her movie set. Selena recently broke up with Nick Jonas.

This isn't the first rumor about New Moon hookups this week. On Monday, we showed you pictures of Rob Pattinson and Kristen Stewart arriving at their hotels together after a night out on the town.

The world is caught up in the craze of the love triangle between mortal, vampire, and werewolf in the hit series The Twilight Saga. The passion and desire that Edward Cullen and Bella Swan share is undeniable; however the bond of friendship that Bella shares with Jacob Black is irrefutable. Entertainment Tonight is taking us on a journey with the stars of New Moon as they film the upcoming movie and ET is getting the stars every reaction along the way.

In the latest video from ET we see Edward confessing to Bella that he might not be strong enough to resist her. "I've never wanted a human's blood so much in my life," remarks a shaken Edward as he comforts his goddess Bella. In this clip we see the passion that these two have for each other and it makes what happens in New Moon so heartbreaking.

The stars also sounds off about filming New Moon, Robert talks about his personal life, and Kristen acknowledges the Twilight hype. Kristen Stewart is aware of the Twilight fandom and knows how anxious we all are for The Twilight Saga: New Moon. In Thursday's ET interview with Kristen Stewart she says, "Well, there waiting so let's make it as good as we can make it." Yes, Kristen, we are all waiting patiently and we are happy that ET is bringing us behind the scene.

We are also happy that we are getting some one on one interviews with Rob who talks about his personal life. Pattinson opens up and says, "I’m always really worried about ruining their lives. Especially with people that aren’t famous. It’s such a massive change. I’m kind of a paranoid wreck." What do you think about Rob's comment? You do have to somewhat feel bad for this actor who went from zero to sixty in ten seconds, right?
